At A Roof in Need, we believe no one should have to live under a leaking, unsafe roof simply because they can’t afford repairs. We are a for-profit charity based in Utah, built on the idea that business can be a force for good. Our mission is to provide critical roofing repairs and full roof replacements to vulnerable individuals and families—especially the elderly, widows, single parents, veterans, and service members—who are unable to secure the help they need through traditional means.

The inspiration behind this mission came from one of our own clients. We were working with a kind woman who had filed a claim with her homeowner’s insurance, only to be denied. She desperately needed a new roof, and we were helping her explore how to pay for it out-of-pocket. Just as we were moving forward, she went to a routine doctor’s appointment—and walked out with a devastating cancer diagnosis. Suddenly, every dollar had to go toward treatment. Her roof, though still leaking and unsafe, had to wait. That moment changed everything for us. We knew there had to be a better way to help people like her—people who fall through the cracks.

That’s why we started A Roof in Need. We combine charitable giving with business efficiency, stretching every donated dollar by leveraging our connections in roofing and manufacturing, using discounted materials, and rallying community volunteers. The result? High-quality roofing solutions delivered at a fraction of the cost—so we can help more families, faster.

But our work goes far beyond shingles and nails. We’re protecting people from life-threatening conditions—like toxic black mold caused by long-term leaks, and roof collapses brought on by rotted wood and heavy snow loads. These aren’t just home repairs—they’re life-saving interventions.
